Information We Collect
Information you give us. When you fill out a case evaluation or contact form, call us, or email us, we collect what you choose to provide, such as your name, phone number, email address and a description of your situation.
Information collected automatically. When you visit the site, our servers and the tools described below automatically collect technical information, such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, the time of your visit, and the website that referred you.
Case Inquiries and Confidentiality
Contacting us through this website, by phone or by email does not create an attorney-client relationship. An attorney-client relationship is formed only when we agree in writing to represent you. Even so, we treat information you send us about a potential legal matter as confidential, consistent with our professional obligations to prospective clients. Please do not send information that is time-sensitive or highly sensitive until we have spoken with you.
How We Use Information
- To respond to your inquiry and evaluate whether we can help with your legal matter
- To check for conflicts of interest, as attorneys are required to do
- To communicate with you about your inquiry or case
- To operate, secure and improve the website, including filtering spam submissions
- To understand how visitors use the site and to measure the effectiveness of our advertising
- To comply with legal and professional obligations
Cookies, Analytics and Advertising Tools
The site uses cookies and similar technologies. These include:
- Google Analytics, which helps us understand how visitors find and use the site. You can opt out using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
- The Meta (Facebook) Pixel, which helps us measure and improve our advertising on Meta platforms. You can manage how Meta uses this information in your Meta ad preferences.
- Essential and security cookies used by our hosting, caching and spam-protection services to keep the site working and protect our forms.
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies. If you do, some parts of the site may not work as intended.
Do Not Track. Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” signal. Because there is no common standard for responding to these signals, the site does not currently respond to them.
How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as needed to operate our practice and this website:
- Service providers that host, secure and maintain the site, filter spam, provide analytics and help us run advertising, under terms that limit how they may use the information
- Experts and consultants we retain when needed to evaluate or handle your matter, subject to confidentiality obligations
- When required by law, such as in response to a subpoena or court order, or to protect our rights or the safety of others
- In a business transition, such as a merger of our practice, subject to our professional obligations
We do not share personal information with third parties for their own direct marketing purposes.
Retention and Security
We keep information as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described above, including to meet our legal and professional record-keeping obligations. We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect information, but no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure.
Your California Privacy Rights
Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, California residents may have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about them, to request that we correct or delete it, and not to be discriminated against for making these requests. Some information may be exempt, for example where we must keep it to comply with legal or professional obligations. To make a request, contact us using the information below. We will verify your request before responding.
Under California Civil Code section 1798.83, California residents may ask whether we share personal information with third parties for their direct marketing purposes. We do not.
